The third and final reading to ban fireworks in the City of Washington is on the agenda for tonight’s council meeting. The first reading passed with a vote of 5-1, the second reading passed 4-2.

The council will hear two special presentations – one from Washington for Justice and another for a proposed event called Shop Hop. Public hearings to annex land for residential development, an ordinance to set no parking zones along South Avenue C, and the advertising plan for the position of City Clerk and Development Director will be discussed and considered.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Washington Fire Station and can also be accessed remotely.
