Southeast Iowa is in the spotlight in the latest individual and team cross country poll from the Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association.

In the team poll for week three, the Mid-Prairie girls remain atop class 2A for the third straight week. The Golden Hawks were team champions at Pella last time out after a 1-2-3 finish from Danielle Hostetler, Sydney Yoder and Jaden Yoder respectively. In the individual 2A girls poll, five members of the Golden Hawk team are listed with Danielle Hostetler No. 1, Jaden Yoder No. 2, Sydney Yoder No. 4, Abby Fleming No. 19 and Mitzi Evans No. 25.

The Mid-Prairie boys made the leap from seventh last week, up to third in the most recent poll. The Golden Hawk boys were also team champions at Pella on Saturday, led by a 2-3-4 finish from Thaddeus Shetler, Jamison Stutzman and Chandler Hershberger in that order. Three Mid-Prairie boys appear in the 2A individual poll with Shetler No. 21, Stutzman No. 23 and Hershberger No. 27.

Winfield-Mt. Union’s Brody Barton checks in at No. 25 in the class 1A boys individual poll this week, while the Columbus boys team was mentioned as one of the teams to watch in the 1A boys poll.
