The Columbus Junction Columbus Day Committee has decided to cancel the 2020 Columbus Day event. The annual event is held the Saturday prior to Columbus Day, celebrating the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492. The committee felt the continued spread of COVID-19 in southeast Iowa was enough to cancel the event in an effort to keep community members safe and healthy. Volunteers looking to help plan the 2021 event can contact the committee for more information and find out ways to help.
