fireworks-3

The use of fireworks is one step away from being banned in the City of Washington. At their meeting Tuesday night, the Washington City Council approved the second reading of an ordinance to ban the use of fireworks. Currently, the city allows the use of fireworks on July 3rd and 4th, and December 31st.

The second reading passed with a vote of 4-2 with councilors Steve Gault and Fran Stigers in opposition. Stigers had voted in favor of the first reading held in August. The council will consider the third and final reading at their next meeting.
