sigourney-3

An improved Sigourney baseball bunch this summer translated to plenty of postseason recognition, as six Savages were named all conference for the South Iowa Cedar League.

Three players were named to the first team including Josh Mohr in the infield, Cade Molyneux as an outfielder, and Cade Streigle as utility. Mohr dominated in his junior season finishing with a .522 batting average that led the league as well as a .676 on base percentage. Molyneux was a RBI machine knocking in 27 runs that was a top of the conference and Streigle was the team’s top pitcher with a 2.56 ERA in 27 1/3 innings of work.

Levi Crawford was the lone second teamer for the Savages. The sophomore batted .400 and no one in the conference scored more than him with 25 runs. Mason Moore and Brock Halleran received honorable mention for the SICL. Moore produced a 2.59 earned run average in 27 frames on the hill and Halleran had a .407 on base percentage.

Sigourney won eight of their final nine regular season games and finished 10-6 on the season.
