The Mid-Prairie School Board approved increasing their nursing staff for the upcoming school year in order to meet increased demands due to COVID-19. Superintendent Mark Schneider brought the idea to the board to increase the number of nurses from 2.75 full time equivalent staff members to four full time equivalent staff members across the district’s four school buildings. The board approved the motion to increase the nursing staff. Funding for these new staff members will come from the general fund and general fund reserves. The school will begin the search for qualified individuals and looks to hire them before the start of school on August 24.
