Six Washington softball players were recently recognized by the Southeast Conference being named to the all conference teams.

Headlining the selections on the first team were Kaitlyn Mitchell and Kellie Dallmeyer. Mitchell was the captain of the defense behind the plate and also got the offense started at the top of the order with a team-best .518 on base percentage including 21 walks. Dallmeyer was a reliable defender at shortstop and led the squad with a .396 batting average and her 24 RBI was second. 

Kinsey Duwa and Cara Linnenkamp were named to the second team. Duwa reached safely 44% of the time and her speed translated to the second most stolen bases in the league with 12. Linnenkamp finished strong in the circle at the end of the season and compiled a 4.75 ERA in 97 innings of work. Her 26 runs driven in at the dish was third in the conference.

Alexa Mitchell and Halle Leyden were named honorable mention. The duo had matching .354 on base percentages and Mitchell knocked in 17 tallies while Leyden brought in eight.

Academic all conference recipients for Washington included Duwa, Leyden, the Mitchell twins, Dallmeyer, Emma Herr, Cameron Malichky, and Anna Venenga. 

The Demons finished the 2020 campaign 10-18 overall and qualified for their first regional final since 2014.
