Paul N. Bailey Field in Wellman on the campus of Mid-Prairie High School will be filled on Sunday for a pep rally send-off for the Golden Hawk baseball team. Mid-Prairie qualified for state Wednesday at Mediapolis with a 9-7 victory over Central Lee. It’s the first time the Golden Hawks have advanced to the state tournament at Principal Park in Des Moines since 2007. The No. 6 ranked Golden Hawks open state Monday at 1:30 against No. 9 ranked West Lyon.
