Three people were involved in a car wreck resulting in two of them being transported to the University of Iowa Hospital by helicopter. On Friday at 8:46 a.m., Iowa State Patrol officers were called to the northbound lanes of Highway 218 near County Road J20. An investigation found that driver 25-year-old Amosa Rasas of St. Louis, Missouri overcorrected his 2000 Toyota Camry off the right side of the road, struck a tree, and came to rest on its top. Rasas was uninjured. Two passengers, a 17-year-old and 29-year-old Archie Tinyan, both of St. Louis, were injured. They were taken to the University of Iowa Hospital by helicopters. Tinyan was not wearing a seatbelt. Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Henry County Sheriff’s personnel, Salem Fire Department, Henry County EMS, Med Force 2, Air Evac, and Breuers Towing. The accident is under investigation of the Iowa State Patrol.
