A monstrous sixth inning immediately changed the trajectory of a non-conference area baseball bout in Sigourney and the Savages had the upper hand of a 12-6 affair against Highland on Tuesday.

It was a 3-2 Huskie advantage heading to the bottom of the sixth when the Savage offense went crazy for a 10-run inning that quickly put the game to bed. The red hot Savages, who have now won seven of eight contests, peppered 16 hits led by a 3-for-5 performance from Cade Molyneux and four RBI. Josh Mohr added three knocks and two driven in. Mason Moore picked up the win on the hill tossing six frames giving up two earned runs on six hits and striking out eight. Bill Laughlin paced the Huskies going 2-for-4 with one RBI and threw five innings without giving up an earned tally.

Sigourney improves to 9-5 and they close the regular season tonight against North Mahaska. Highland drops to 7-5, but play for a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division title this evening against Mediapolis.
