tractorcade

Tractors will flood Kalona’s streets this Saturday during the Kalona Tractorcade. Event Organizer Dean Miller has taken part in the Great Eastern Iowa Tractorcade for years and says due to the COVID-19 pandemic postponing the event, he wanted to bring a similar event to southeast Iowa this summer. The parade route will begin at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church at 5 p.m. and go throughout a large portion of Kalona. The route will end at 9th Street at the park and unload trailers at the Kalona Sale Barn. For the full route visit this story at KCIIRadio.com. Miller says anyone with a tractor is able to join in the parade, no registration necessary. He says participants should arrive at the church around 4:30 p.m. and be ready to enjoy a cruise around town. Community members are invited to set up their lawn chairs along the route and enjoy the parade in a socially distant manner.
