Iowa added 293 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and the same day 231 people were reported to have recovered from the virus. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, as of Wednesday there were 10,404 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 3,803 people had recovered, or about 36.5%. In total, 63,171 Iowans have been tested for the virus. And 219 people have died from it in the state.

Washington County has stayed mostly steady the last week and has 152 cases and seven deaths. Washington County is one of 22 in the state to continue all COVID-19 related restrictions from the governor’s office through May 15th. Some businesses in the other 77 counties were allowed to start re-opening at limited capacity last Friday. People are still encouraged to practice social distancing and good hand hygiene to prevent the spread of the virus.
