The Washington Public Library is celebrating National Library Week remotely this week. The theme is Find the Library at Your Place. The library is still providing services to patrons with programs online and access to their digital library. Library Director Bryna Walker said there are materials available for all reading levels on their digital platforms, “I did make the decision that we are doing just temporary library cards by calling the library or emailing us at reference@washington.lib.ia.us. But I prefer just calling 653-2726. And we can issue parents temporary library cards that they can just use for Bridges and all of our resources online to help their kids with their different academic programs they’re doing through school right now.”

Children’s Librarian Jo Weidner has also been doing regular story times on the library’s Facebook page. The Facebook page also has routine STEM challenges for children to try at home.
