Iowa’s 211 phone line can provide people assistance during the COVID-19 public health pandemic. The phone line helps connect people with housing, food, and income support. From March 8th to April 11th, 211 centers in Iowa received 23,247 COVID-19 related calls. The highest need areas included 18,293 for health care, 812 for housing, 771 for income support, and 537 for meals. During the 35-day period 139 calls to 211 were from Washington County and 787 were from Johnson County. The phone line is available to assist anyone, simply dial 211.
