The record low temperature was met in Washington on Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, the record was set in 1997 at 23 degrees. Early Tuesday morning the mercury dropped to 23 degrees. Temperatures are expected to be cool the rest of the week with overnight lows below freezing and a chance of rain Thursday and Friday.
