The State Library of Iowa is encouraging libraries around the state to fight against misinformation and the spread of the coronavirus. The administration at the State Library recommends libraries consider canceling, postponing, or rescheduling program events, step up disinfecting and cleaning of surfaces, review any policies put in place, and remove toys and other items from children’s areas. It is up to the individual libraries on what steps they want to take to ensure the health and safety of community members and library staff. Libraries are encouraged also to visit the State Library website for more information on the coronavirus, how to communicate information to the public, and other helpful resources.
