The future of Washington archery was on full display over the weekend in Des Moines, as the middle school and elementary teams found success at the state tournament.

Lincoln Elementary swept the bullseye and 3D competitions with a pair of first place finishes. The bullseye score of 3052 bested the other 10 teams and Emma Helfrich led them with a 264 to place seventh out of 137 elementary girls. Hannah Lipski had a 264, Liam Peterson 262, Blaine Rees 261, and Teage Pepper 260. The 3D team score was 1488 and Kayden Hall was fifth out of 41 boys with 251. Lipski also had 251 to place sixth out of 30 girls and Helfrich had 250.

The Demon middle school team placed 11th out of 33 schools in the bullseye event with 3222. Cash Pepper led the way with a 288 that ranked fourth out of 485 middle school boys. Other top scores included Isabelle Peterson 277, Mason Meserole 277, Jade Sheetz 275, Audrey Smith 272, and Kamryn Williams 268. Washington placed eighth out of 21 in the 3D with a score of 1582. Pepper capped off a big day with 285 that stood atop of the leaderboard out of 161. Smith finished with 268, Meserole 262, and Sheetz 260.
