It was another successful state tournament over the weekend for the Washington high school archery team, as they cracked the top six in both the bullseye and 3D competitions in Des Moines.

The Demons placed fourth out of 33 teams in the bullseye tournament with a score of 3379. David Rees paced the team with 289 to finish 16th out of 404 high school boys. Meghan Case tallied a 288 to rank 10th out of 341 high school girls. Other top performers included Lane Frana 287, Cooper Reed 283, Jack Strabala 282, Curtis Stender 281, Alexis Ide 281, and Samantha Mellinger 280.

Washington was sixth out of 16 teams in the 3D event with 1661. Mellinger cracked the top 10 out of 96 high school girls with a 283 tally. Frana and Jonathan Moore each scored a 280, Hayden Janecek had 274, Allison Rees 272, and Case 272.
