For the first time in school history the Sigourney bowling team was represented at the state meet this week with Holden Huffman participating and cracking the top 15 in class 1A.

On Monday, Huffman traveled to Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo and finished 14th out of 53 with a two-game score of 426. The senior tallied the second highest total in the first game bowling a 259 and followed it up with a 167 in the second. Camanche bowler Troy Edmunds won the individual state title with 566 pins.

Huffman was the lone senior for a Savage bunch that went 5-20 on the season.
