Recycled materials will be transformed by students Monday at the Washington Public Library as Recycled Runway returns. Librarian Jenisa Harris says those who attend will create a look from recycled materials, “It could be a dress, it could be pants and a top, whatever you want. I’m excited to see what the kids decide. So as a group they get to make something or if they wanted to split into a couple of groups and make more than one outfit, that’s more than welcome. So we take old book pages, and calendars, and different fun recycled material, and they’re able to make a creation. And it’s going to be modeled in the fashion show in the fall that’s with the Chamber, so the kids are really excited.” Students will be given the recycled materials, yarn, and tape to create their outfits. The program is for sixth through 12th grade students at 4 p.m. this Monday, February 24th.
