For the third time this season the Sigourney girls basketball team cruised to a big victory over Keota with the Savages downing the Eagles 64-13 on Thursday in the first round of a class 1A regional.

A fast start put this one to bed early, as Sigourney hurried out to a 26-0 lead after one and 44-6 advantage at the break with the lead continuing to grow in the second half. Megan Stuhr had another monstrous night with 32 points on 13 of 20 shooting and hauled in seven rebounds while dishing out five assists. Makenna Hammes was also in double figures with 10 points.

The Savages improve to 17-4 on the season and advance to the regional quarterfinal on Tuesday when they host English Valleys (13-8) in a game that can be heard on KCII. The Eagles conclude their season 2-18 and say goodbye to senior Jordan Hammen.
