The Kalona City Council approved improvements to lights around town. Department of Transportation Right-of-way for ITC Midwest was approved to replace up to 16 light poles from 14th Street east on Highway 22 toward the city’s limits. The total cost of the project has not yet been released. An ordinance for Electric Franchise Agreement with ITC Midwest was also discussed and approved giving the company access to position equipment through right of way areas. The next Kalona City Council meeting will happen Monday January 20th at 7 p.m.
