keota-eagles

No South Iowa Cedar League team has had a single-digit ball game with the Keota boys and that trend continued on Tuesday when the Eagles flew past North Mahaska 66-49.

The Eagles had to grind this one out, as they had a tight 12-11 lead after one and 27-21 at the break before a big third quarter gave them some breathing room. JD Stout was his normal self with 33 points on 10 of 23 shooting and six rebounds. Carson Sprouse had 13 points while Luke Hammen dropped 11. Keota is now 9-1 overall and 8-0 in the conference.

The North Mahaska girls were riding an eight game win streak and there was no stopping them in a 70-13 Eagle defeat. It was quickly 31-2 after the first quarter and the advantage continued to get steeper the rest of the way. The Eagles are 1-10 on the season including 1-8 in the league.

Both teams return to the court tomorrow at HLV.
