The spotlight for wrestling in southeast Iowa will shine brightly on Highland High School today for the annual Gary Curtis Invitational. The homestanding Huskies were last on the mat Thursday when they took on Wapello and Pekin in a triangular, splitting the duals with a win over the Panthers and a loss to the Indians. The Huskies have one ranked wrestler in their lineup with Bryce Thompson at No. 7 at 106lbs in the latest poll from thepredicament.com.

The Washington Demons are back in action today after dropping a home dual to Fort Madison on Thursday 63-18. The Demons have a pair of ranked wrestlers in their lineup with Dillan Sanders at No. 8 at 145lbs and Ayden Frazier No. 10 at 160lbs.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks will be at Highland today. The Hawks went 2-1 on a Thursday road trip for a quad in Camanche, beating Bellevue 48-30 and Northeast Goose Lake 60-9 before falling to Camanche 51-30. The Golden Hawks have one ranked wrestler in their lineup with Isaac Boucher at No. 7 at 195lbs.

Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union will also travel to Highland today. The Wildcats were last on the mat Thursday when they swept a big Superconference doubleheader, taking out Louisa-Muscatine 45-25 and Burlington Notre Dame 37-36. The Wildcats have one ranked wrestler in their lineup with Cam Rice checking in at No. 6 at 152lbs.

Other teams at Highland today include Alburnett, Cascade, English Valleys, Iowa City Regina, Monticello, Muscatine, New London, South Tama and West Branch. Action starts at 10a.m. at Highland High School.
