In a home Southeast Iowa Super Conference doubleheader, the Lone Tree basketball teams welcomed Mediapolis to town on Friday and walked away with a split.

The boys got out to an early lead and hung on late to down the Bulldogs 71-65. The Lions had a 22-17 advantage after one and 42-31 at the break before a mini comeback by Mediapolis that was left short. Fresh off of a triple-double performance earlier in the week, Keegan Edwards had an encore performance with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Cale Yoder added 13 points and Cory Krueger had 12.

The Lady Lions dug themselves a 21-7 hole after one and couldn’t crawl out of it falling 72-46. Madeline Jacque was a bright spot with a season-high 25 points on five of seven shooting behind the arc.

The boys improve to 5-1 and the girls are 5-2. Both teams get back at it tomorrow at Pekin.
