Washington hosted Marianne Williamson as she seeks the Democratic nod to run for President. The author and spiritualist visited with potential caucus-goers at Cafe Dodici. She said “This is not a government of the people, by the people, for the people. We might say that…it’s time for us to wake up from our magical thinking, because we’re not that now. We are a government of a few of the people, by a few of the people for a few of the people. We are a government of, by and for, huge multinational corporate interests. We need to initiate in this country, a season of repair. We have drifted from democracy. It’s not going to change with one policy shift here and one policy shift there. This has been going on for 40 years. Donald Trump did not create all of this. All of this created Donald Trump.

Williamson has written 14 books and founded several nonprofit organizations.
