A local singer-songwriter has made the top 20 on NBC’s The Voice. Cali Wilson of Salem has advanced through the show this fall and will be performing live on Monday. Yard signs in support of Wilson have been showing up across southeast Iowa and Wilson appreciates it, “It was incredible. I’ve been seeing those signs pop up on social media. I mean, I couldn’t have asked for more support than I’m getting because it’s incredible to see people with signs with my name and picture on it. And people posting about me constantly, about my journey on The Voice and how proud they are and being a good representation of the area that I’m from. Southeast Iowa is super important to me so I’m so glad people are rallying behind me, and I couldn’t be more thankful.”

In the last round, Wilson performed ‘Wicked Game’ by Chris Izaak and according to Billboard that song has now hit number one on a chart for the first time ever. The single reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March of 1991 and since Wilson performed it on October 28th’s episode the song reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales dated November 9th. Digital downloads sold also skyrocketed.

Wilson returns to The Voice stage Monday, and public voting begins Monday as the field will be narrowed from 20 to 13 performers. Hear the full interview with Wilson here.
