The Lynnville-Sully defense was no match for the Sigourney-Keota rushing game, as the Cobras ran for over 450 yards on the ground en route to a 56-14 win in their home opener.

JD Stout made the most of his eight carries rushing for 187 yards and three scores while Sam Sieren tallied 119 yards and one touchdown. Cade Molyneux completed both of his passes for touchdowns and ended with 122 yards. Head Coach Jared Jensen tells KCII Sports the rushing game opened up the pass. “We established the run with Stout, Sieren, and Brady Duwa. It brought players into the box and then we were able to pop it over the top to get long passes for touchdowns. We had everything going offensively on Friday.” The Cobra defense allowed just 174 yards to the Hawks and turned them over five times.

Sigourney-Keota moves to 2-0 and they get back on the gridiron Friday at Albia.
