Don’t let the lack of seniors fool you, the Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team is experienced and ready to do some damage in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.
The Wolves’ lone senior on this year’s squad is Anna Hudson, but they lost just two players from a 2018 team that went 15-15. Hudson will lead the youth movement at the net, as she led the team in blocks last season with 43. Jenna Buffington returns for her junior campaign after emerging as a force offensively with 261 kills that ranked second in the division. Kayla Edwards is back as the setter and she finished second in assists with 505. Buffington and Kyndal Townsley provide scrappiness on the defensive side combining for over 650 digs.
The Wolves open the year August 29th in a home triangular against Keokuk and Van Buren.
