A rejuvenated WACO football team looks to keep the program moving forward in 2019 and they have some experience coming back to lead the charge.

After a 4-6 record in 2017, the Warriors turned around and finished 6-3 last fall just missing out on the playoffs. While they do lose 1,000-yard rusher Colton Horak to graduation, WACO brings back their senior gunslinger Nik Coble. The two-year starting quarterback threw for 1,402 yards and 18 touchdowns a season ago while throwing just five interceptions. Coble’s second top target in Drew Kissell returns after hauling in 18 passes for 348 yards. Elijah McGohan will compete to take over runningback duties after 416 yards on the ground in 2018 and reaching pay dirt four times. Jalen Collins should lead the defense coming off of 40 tackles.

The Warriors open the year August 30th at North Shelby in Missouri.
