A national movement to get shelter animals adopted is coming to Washington Saturday. PAWS and More will be taking part in the 2019 National Clear the Shelters event. From noon to 4 p.m. Saturday all adoption fees will be waived and there will be same-day adoptions with an approved application for all cats and kittens currently at the shelter location. PAWS Director Amber Talbot says PAWS goal is to find forever homes, so they decided to take part in it, “Our shelter has so many adorable, beautiful kittens and cats and we want them all to have the chance to go to a loving home. We want and need to stay ahead of overcrowding and all that comes with that.” Normally the adoption fee is $100.

This weekend also marks the 21st Annual PAWS and More Central Park Car Show. See the cars in downtown Washington Sunday. Registration is 8-11 a.m. and awards are at 3 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the shelter.
