August in Washington has been drier than normal. There was some reprieve Monday with rain falling throughout the day. According to the National Weather Service, the normal amount of rainfall for Washington for the first two weeks of August is just under two inches. Drought conditions have been spreading in eastern Iowa as of late, with 36.4% of Iowa abnormally dry.
