Our number seven Mid-Prairie sports story takes us to the baseball diamond where the Golden Hawks climbed back above the .500 mark in 2019. The Hawks finished with a 18-12 overall record and an appearance in the district championship game after a 12-16 2018 season. They hit .260 as a team, a 50 point improvement over a year ago with a team ERA at 3.40. Mid-Prairie was led in both hitting and pitching by Brad Tornow. The junior all-conference and all-state selection was tops on the team and sixth in the conference with a .417 average. On the mound he was a perfect 7-0 with a one ERA and 102 strikeouts, most in the conference and fourth in the state. He was joined on the all-RVC team by Kayden Reinier, Vinny Bowlin and Keegan Gingerch. Mid-Prairie was eliminated from the postseason by West Branch in the district championship game 7-6.
