lone-tree-3

The upset-minded Lone Tree baseball team will try to keep riding the postseason wave tonight when they travel to Calamus-Wheatland for a class 1A district final.

The Lions have won multiple ways so far in the playoffs opening with a 3-1 pitcher’s duel against Lisbon and then breaking out the bats for 19 hits in a 10-6 victory over Midland in the semifinal. Avery Knock has been raking at the dish with a .486 batting average and 27 runs batted in. Keegan Edwards has been steady on the bump with a 2.76 ERA. The #4 ranked Warriors have been dominant all year en route to a 32-3 season out of the Tri-Rivers Conference. They defeated Prince of Peace 16-1 in the opening round and Marquette Catholic 6-0 in the semis. The Warriors have four players with a sub-2.0 ERA and Caleb Banowetz supports a .524 batting average.

All of the action gets underway at 7 p.m. this evening at Calamus-Wheatland High School.
