midprairie-3

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team has made a habit of late inning heroics in the last half of the season. That trend continued on Tuesday as the Golden Hawks collected a 9-8 win over Williamsburg in Wellman. Mid-Prairie played catch-up most of the night with the Raiders jumping out to a 3-0 lead after two frames. The Golden Hawks tied it with three of their own in the third only to see the Raiders jump back ahead 8-3 through five and a half. The Hawks chipped away late with three in the sixth and three more in the seventh including an Ashton Bush walk-off. He ended the night two for three. Chris Miller had two RBI. Monte Slabaugh got the win in relief working the final inning and striking out one. Mid-Prairie is now 11-8 on the year.
