Governor Kim Reylonds proclaimed this week Iowa Museums Week to recognize the role museums have in our communities.

The Kalona Historical Society works to provide quality museums with knowledgeable staff and artifacts. Director Nancy Roth tells KCII News how important it is to provide quality museums to the Kalona area, “We feel that our museum is very important in our community. It draws a lot of visitors to the Kalona area. There are a lot of people that like to learn the history of little towns as they’re traveling. We feel like we have something pretty spectacular here.”

In addition to Iowa Museums Week, the Kalona Historical Society will hold their own week of themed days and events from July 8th-12th.
