It’s been a busy week for the Iowa Mennonite School baseball team as they took on Burlington Notre Dame and Cardinal of Eldon in a pair of Superconference crossover games. In Burlington Tuesday, the Nikes beat IMS 5-1. Notre Dame built a 5-0 lead through the game’s first three innings. IMS got on the board in the sixth when Noah Miller delivered an RBI hit to score Eli Ours. Miller took the loss on the hill going three and two thirds innings, giving up four hits, five runs, walking two and striking out three.

Against Cardinal, IMS also fell behind early with the Comets scoring twice in the second, IMS tied it with a pair of runs in the fourth with Trevor Leyden and Luke Schrock crossing the plate. Things stayed even through the end of regulation with Cardinal finally pushing across another tally in the ninth to get the extra inning win. London Schrock had an RBI. Drew Blauvelt went all nine innings and took the loss for IMS, giving up eight hits, three runs, walking one and striking out eight.  IMS is now 3-3 on the year.
