Kalona approved a law enforcement contract with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for the next fiscal year. The contract will cost the city a total of $134,321 and will start July 1st and run through June of 2020. Kalona will pay in four installments of $33,580.25. Kalona budgeted $43,766 in this contract to go towards an additional deputy as part of an agreement with Riverside and Wellman to add more law enforcement presence in northern Washington County.
