The Winfield-Mt. Union track teams hosted a meet Thursday night with many KCII area teams participating.

On the boys’ side Lone Tree headlined the action placing third with 85 points and Danville won with 102. WMU finished fifth with 72 points and WACO was not far behind in seventh with 61. Columbus Community rounded out the scoring with 37. Lone Tree’s Brady Dauber had the lone first place finish in the long jump (19’11’’), Cale Yoder was second in the shot put (41’5.75’’), and Keegan Edwards was second in the 400m hurdles. (1:00.69). WMU’s Brandon Snowden captured another title in the 200m (22.49) along with the 4x200m relay team (1:36.11) and Talon Newton was second in the high jump (5’10’’). The Warriors had three first place events including the shuttle hurdle relay (1:11.15) and Colton Horak in both the 110m hurdles (15.95) and 400m hurdles (58.37). The Wildcat’s Isaac Acosta was second in the 3200m run (11:27.94).

On the girls side WMU placed fourth with 75 points and Danville ran away with the title with 152.5. Lone Tree placed fifth with 47.5 points and WACO was next in line with 47 while Columbus tied for seventh with 27. The Wolves’ went one-two in the shot put with Anna Hudson winning (35’4.5’’) and Jobey Malone taking the runner-up finish (32’8.75’’). Other second place events included Kyndal Townsley in the 100m hurdles (17.53), Isabella Mertens in the 1500m run (5:56.94), and Ali Cockerman in the long jump (13’1’’). Lone Tree’s Holley Johnson had a big day placing first in the 100m hurdles (17.44), second in her first ever time running in the 400m hurdles (1:16.93), and fourth in the 100m (13.77). Grace Conwell won a title for WACO in the 400m hurdles (1:14.88) and Angie Byas claimed a title for Columbus in the long jump (14’10’’).
