In response to flooding and flash flooding that started in March, Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for Louisa and Scott Counties. Under the disaster proclamation, state resources may be used to respond to and recover from the severe weather. It also activates the Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents and the Disaster Case Management Program for those in Louisa and Scott Counties. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has grants of up to $5,000 for households with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level. The grants are for home or car repairs, temporary housing expenses, and replacing clothing or food. The Disaster Case Management has no income eligibility requirements and is for serious needs in overcoming a disaster-related hardship, injury, or adverse condition.
