The Washington boys’ track team has been practicing for a few weeks, and now the season’s first taste of competition is here.

The Demons will head to Central College in Pella today for their indoor track meet.  Head coach Steve Roth says he doesn’t care much about how they do; today’s meet is more about the guys than it is about the placements.

“This is for juniors and seniors, just a chance to run,” Roth said.  “The young kids, we’re not going to worry about them.  We just want them to get on the track and see what kind of speed they’ve got.  But we’re looking for the Hennigans, and the Kleeses, and the Hunts, and the Schiefers… I could go on and on and on about what we’ve got.  It’s going to be exciting I think.”

Today’s meet at Central is set to begin at noon.
