Pilot Grove Savings Bank has pitched in to assist Salem first responders upgrade outdated equipment.

The bank donated $2,500 to the Salem Fire & Rescue Association for a new tank and pump for their brush truck. Executive Vice President of Pilot Grove Savings Bank Bob Breazeale said he was happy to assist the first responders stating, “Hopefully [the new tank and pump] will not be needed frequently, but it is comforting to know that we’ll be ready to go at a moment’s notice. The dedicated efforts of the volunteers of the fire department to protect local homes and farms is certainly appreciated.” The total cost to replace the current equipment is $15,140.
