Nominations for Washington’s Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year are due by Tuesday, February 12th. Washington’s Annual Dinner hosted by the Chamber, Main Street, and Washington Economic Development Group will be March 4th. Criteria to be business of the year includes: displaying leadership, cooperation, and teamwork; being an active Chamber of Commerce member; and has visibly contributed and promoted to major economic growth and stability. The Citizen of the Year Award recognizes someone who is involved in programs and activities in Washington, someone who has had a positive impact on Washington and its future. Last year’s Business of the Year was WCDC, Inc., and Citizen of the Year was former library director Debbie Stanton.
