The Washington County Fair will no longer be once a year. A new Winter County Fair will be held March 2nd. Washington County 4-H and Youth Coordinator Amy Green explains the idea for the evening event was inspired by a need as the chainsaw carving auction at the 2018 fair in July had to be cancelled due to a storm. The proceeds from that auction help cover 4-H enrollment fees and she says they are critical to the 4-H budget. The Washington Winter County Fair will be a night for 4-H and Fair friends to spend time together without the chores of the usual busy fair week. Tickets are available for the dinner, chainsaw art auction, 50/50 raffle at the Washington County Extension Office for $25 or a pair for $40. The event will be held at the KC Hall March 2nd.
