The WACO basketball teams competed in a doubleheader in Burlington last night, with the girls taking a loss against West Burlington and the boys taking the victory.

The girls’ game was first, with the Warriors taking the loss 58-37.  It was a six-point game at the end of the first quarter, but the Falcons started to soar in the second to take a 33-17 lead into halftime.  The Warriors would not be able to come back from that in the second half.

The boys’ game was next, where the boys took won their game 47-34.  The Warriors outscored the Falcons in all quarters but the third, in which they tied by each scoring eight points.  Nik Coble was a force yet again, putting up a team-high 12 points and 20 rebounds for yet another double-double.  It was a balanced scoring affair after that, with everyone who played putting up at least six points.

The loss moves the girls to 4-10 on the year, and the boys improve to 10-3 with the win.  The girls will welcome Cedar League foe Belle Plaine to town for a single game on Monday night, and both teams are back at it on Tuesday at home against Cardinal.
