The Washington cross country teams had their home meet at the Washington Golf and Country Club this past Thursday, with both the boys and the girls coming in second in team scores.

The boys team finished with a team total of 30 points; just three behind first-place Mount Pleasant.  Evan Horak took second overall at 18.23.  Lance Sobaski came in third 31 seconds behind Horak, and Matthew Collett took fourth with a time of 19 and a half minutes.

The girls also came in second place in team scores at 54.  Their top finisher was Kelsey Pacha in fifth place, running a 23.02 5k.  Tori Hinson was next for Washington at tenth, followed by a slew of her teammates taking places 12 through 19.

Their next meet comes on Monday when the teams compete in the Iowa Mennonite invitational.  That meet will take place at on the Iowa Mennonite School campus and will start with the middle school race at 4:00.
