With a unanimous vote the Washington County Board of Supervisors set a date for a public hearing regarding the proposed county communication’s building.

At Tuesday’s meeting the supervisors approved a resolution which set the date for a public hearing on the communication facility urban renewal area and on the urban renewal plan and project. Supervisor Jack Seward explained the item is part of the process, “This is essentially a step in the process of moving forward with the radio communications project. Essentially, it’s moving forward on the funding for the building, and as I referenced in the last couple of weeks it’s an urban renewal plan that is the first step in that process.” The resolution included the agreement with the City of Washington to develop that area, since it is county land within the city limits. The public hearing will be at 7 p.m. October 9th in the supervisors chambers in the Washington County Courthouse.
