Area residents went to the polls Tuesday for two special elections.

Of the 200 residents registered in the City of Crawfordsville, 71 people, or 35.5%, voted to fill a city council vacancy, in which Tom Conrad won with just a one vote margin over Cathy Williams. The Mid-Prairie School District held a special election to fill a school board vacancy, and of the 5,419 total registered residents in the district, 347 total voted, or 6.4%. Emily Uhl was elected with 223 votes against Randy Billups who received 123 votes. Election results are unofficial until a canvass by the Washington County Board of Supervisors Tuesday.
