For two years prior to this, the Highland softball team has been riding the back of pitcher Megan Hoenig.  In each of her last two seasons, Hoenig sported 18+ starts, 100+ innings and a sub-three ERA, and was even named to the all-state team last season.  This year saw more of the same.

Though the team had a down year as a whole this season, Hoenig continued to shine through her junior campaign.  She kept her ERA at below three yet again, her 127.2 innings were the fourth-most in the conference, and she set a new career high in strikeouts with 103.

Hoenig’s successes this season earned her a place on the second all-Superconference team.  She’ll be back next year for her senior season.
