A woman has been charged with first degree arson after an incident in Fairfield Tuesday.
According to the Fairfield Police Department at about 12:34 p.m. Tuesday police officers were called for a report of a female subject, later identified as Jessica Manchester, who started a fire in a washing machine in the laundry room at the Monroe Apartments. After an investigation, Manchester was charged with first degree arson of an occupied structure. The matter is still under investigation and further information will be released when it becomes official. There is no identified threat to public safety at this time. The Fairfield Fire Department and Jefferson County Attorney’s Office is assisting in the investigation.
